US High School Diploma:
The American High School Diploma program is a flexible and widely recognized secondary education qualification that prepares students for college and career pathways. Typically spanning grades 9 to 12, it emphasizes a broad curriculum including core subjects like English, mathematics, science, and social studies, along with electives that cater to students’ interests and future aspirations. Accredited by recognized regional educational accrediting authorities, the diploma is accepted by the IBCC for equivalence of SSC and HSSC.
Equivalence is granted based on Grades 9 and 10 of the High School Diploma program from an accredited institution with the required number of credits/half credits of total graduation requirements. Equivalence in the Science Group is awarded based on five subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Computer, studied in Grades 9 and 10. Arts Group equivalence is granted based on five subjects, including English, Mathematics, and three elective subjects studied in Grades 9 and 10.
- Pre-Medical Group: Equivalence in the Pre-Medical Group is awarded based on five subjects: English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and one best subject studied in Grades 9 to 12.
- Pre-Engineering Group: Equivalence in the Pre-Engineering Group is awarded based on five subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one best subject studied in Grades 9 to 12.
- Computer Science Group: Equivalence in the Computer Science Group is awarded based on five subjects: English, Mathematics, Physics, Computer, and one best subject studied in Grades 9 to 12.
- Humanities Group: Equivalence in the Humanities Group is awarded based on five subjects: English, and four elective academic subject studied in Grades 9 to 12.
- Original High School Diploma
- Grades 9 through 12 original Official consolidated 4-year Transcript (included/incorporated prior learning / transferred subjects and credits in the transcript) duly sealed signed and embossed by the issuing authority (recognized Accredited US/ Canadian Institution) and enclosed in an envelope to be opened by an officer or official of the IBCC. Grade-9, 10, 11 and 12 Subjects with their credits must be recorded separately. (NON-RETURNABLE DOCUMENT)
- If a candidate has passed Grade 9 through 12 educational qualifications through more than one institution then he/she will have to provide the original official transcript of each institute separately along with a copy of the accreditation of the institution concerned. The final (4 years) Consolidated transcript must indicate transferred credits and subjects of prior learning/previous education qualification obtained from other institutions/country to complete the Graduation Requirements (4 years subjects & credits) of school from where he/she has obtained High School Diploma. Moreover, the total obtained credits must be equal to or more than the required credits for graduation from the concerned school otherwise application will not be considered for equivalence.
- The applicant must provide original SSC and HSSC (Part-I) issued by the concerned BISE in case of Prior Learning Education Passed from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) in Pakistan. Prior Education i.e. Grades 9 and/or 10 and/or 11 passed in an internal (school-based) examination other than the Canadian/US system of education from Pakistan/abroad and transferred to the US system of education will not be considered for equivalence.
- Attested copy of Certificate of Accreditation of the concerned school with approved/recognized accrediting Association of USA or Concerned US State Department of Education, USA.
- In Case of early graduation, proof of early graduation from concerned institution/issuing authority must be provided.
- In case of Advance Placement courses taken in addition to High School Diploma, the original Advance Placement Reports issued by College Board USA will be required.
- School Profile (i.e. High School Program Planning Guide / Course Description Guide etc,).
- Attested copy of CNIC of parent/guardian/tenderer.
- An Attested Copy of a Passport with a Valid visa portion, Stay proof during the study abroad, an attested copy of CNIC of Pakistan, or an attested copy of Foreign Passpoprt to prove foreign nationality must be provided.
