INTER BOARDS
COORDINATION COMMISSION

About Us

The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), reconstituted in April 2023 through the IBCC Act (Act XIII of 2023), is a national body under the auspices of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFE&PT) dedicated to enhancing secondary and higher education standards across Pakistan. Established in 1972 as the Inter Boards Committee of Chairmen, the IBCC serves as a vital platform for the heads of examination boards across the country. It collaborates with both local and international institutions to set unified policies and standards in academic evaluation, examination, and assessment.

As a trusted authority, the IBCC authenticates and verifies equivalencies for certificates and qualifications up to higher secondary levels from recognized local and foreign institutions, ensuring they meet national standards. The Commission plays a key role in modernizing the examination system by introducing innovative assessment techniques, supporting professional development for educators and examiners, and overseeing the activities of foreign examination boards in Pakistan. Committed to enhancing the educational experience for the students, the IBCC promotes curricular and co-curricular collaborations among member boards and builds strategic linkages with global education bodies for knowledge exchange and professional growth.

Through its work, the IBCC strives to standardize and elevate Pakistan’s education system to meet both national aspirations and global standards. With its main office, the “IBCC Secretariat,” based in Islamabad, the commission also operates regional offices in Lahore, Bahawalpur, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar to support its nationwide mission.
